How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An experienced Quantity Surveyor is required within the commercial team of one of the UK's fastest-growing infrastructure and energy contractors.

Reporting into the Senior Commercial Manager, this role will see you take responsibility for the commercial management of major power infrastructure projects across Scotland. The position has arisen as a result of continued company growth, driven by a significant increase in secured work across the energy and utilities sectors, supporting critical infrastructure projects that contribute to the UK's energy transition.

You will be responsible for managing project costs throughout the lifecycle of schemes, including valuations, applications for payment, forecasting, subcontractor management, variations, compensation events and final accounts. Working closely with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, commercially and successfully.

This opportunity would suit an established Quantity Surveyor looking to further their career within a growing and highly successful business, or an Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to take the next step. Beyond the day-to-day management of projects, the role offers exposure to major infrastructure developments, long-term frameworks and clear progression opportunities within a business that continues to invest heavily across the UK infrastructure sector.

You will ideally possess experience within the energy, utilities, infrastructure, civils or wider construction sectors and have a strong understanding of commercial management principles. NEC contract experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

If you're looking for a role where you can play a pivotal part in delivering nationally significant infrastructure projects, gain exposure to a growing and future-focused market, and benefit from genuine long-term career progression, apply now or get in touch for more information.
