Senior Training Facilitator

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced care professional who is passionate about developing others and improving the quality of care delivered to residents every day. Working across a designated group of care homes, you will play a key role in supporting colleagues through high-quality training, practical coaching, and practice development, helping to ensure that residents receive safe, compassionate, and person-centred care.

As a Senior Training Facilitator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that care and support colleagues have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to deliver safe, high-quality, and person-centred care. This is a practical, field-based role that combines training delivery, coaching, competency support, and team leadership.

Alongside delivering training across your allocated homes, you will also provide day-to-day leadership and coaching to a team of Training Facilitators, helping to ensure that learning is delivered consistently, effectively, and in a way that translates into excellent practice.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Training & Practice Development Manager, you will:

Deliver mandatory and statutory training including moving and handling, safeguarding, fire safety, infection prevention and control, medication awareness, basic life support, and health and safety.

Deliver practice development sessions on topics such as dementia care, pressure care, nutrition and hydration, end of life care, falls prevention, and continence care.

Provide practical coaching and competency support within homes, helping colleagues embed learning into everyday practice.

Build effective working relationships with Home Managers to identify training needs and plan training activity.

Monitor training compliance and support homes to achieve and maintain mandatory training requirements.

Maintain accurate training records using the learning management system.

Collect and review training feedback and contribute to the continuous improvement of the training programme.

Line manage, coach, and develop a team of Training Facilitators through supervisions, appraisals, joint delivery, and observed practice.

Quality assure training delivery across the team and support consistency, compliance, and high standards.

About you

You will be an experienced care professional who enjoys sharing knowledge, developing people, and supporting teams to provide excellent care.

We are looking for someone who has:

Experience delivering training or practice development to adult learners in a care setting.

Good knowledge of mandatory training topics relevant to adult social care.

Strong clinical and care practice knowledge, including dementia care, pressure care, nutrition, falls prevention, and end of life care.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a diverse workforce.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a field-based schedule across multiple homes.

Experience supervising, coaching, or line managing colleagues, or clear readiness to step into a first-line leadership role.

Desirable

A teaching or training qualification such as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent).

A Health and Social Care qualification at Level 3 or above.

A registered nursing or allied health professional background.

Additional training in dementia care, safeguarding, end of life care, or quality improvement.

Additional information

This is a field-based role supporting homes across the Midlands and North of England.

Regular travel is required.

Flexibility is essential to respond to home and regional priorities.

You will be expected to personally deliver training where specialist knowledge, leadership presence, or targeted practice development support is needed.
