How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Lead a recruitment function that attracts great people, strengthens workforce capability and supports the delivery of exceptional care across a growing organisation.

Joining us means becoming part of a forward-looking care organisation with a strong, long-term commitment to the success of every home. Supported by planned investment and the resources needed to deliver high-quality, sustainable care, we are focused on creating the right environment for colleagues to thrive and communities to grow. This is a full-time, office-based role based at our Support Office in Darlington, working 40 hours per week and offering the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across the organisation to support homes nationwide.

    About the role

As Recruitment Manager, you will lead the delivery of the talent acquisition strategy across a large, multi-site care organisation, ensuring we attract, select and onboard the people needed to provide outstanding care.

Reporting to the Head of HR, you will provide leadership across recruitment and onboarding functions, working closely with operational and People leaders to ensure recruitment activity is effective, compliant and aligned with workforce needs.

This is a strategic and operational role, combining the development of recruitment approaches, employer brand activity and talent pipelines with the day-to-day delivery of high-quality resourcing solutions. You will use insight, innovation and strong stakeholder relationships to improve hiring outcomes, strengthen candidate experience and support workforce sustainability.

    About You

You are an experienced recruitment leader with a strong understanding of high-volume recruitment within a complex, multi-site environment.

You will bring a practical, data-led approach to improving recruitment performance, with the ability to lead teams, influence senior stakeholders and develop solutions that attract and retain talented people.

You will be passionate about creating positive candidate experiences, building future talent pipelines and ensuring recruitment plays a key role in supporting outstanding care.

    What You’ll Bring

    Essential

    • Significant experience in a senior recruitment leadership role within a large, complex and geographically dispersed organisation.

    • Proven experience leading and developing recruitment teams, delivering successful hiring outcomes across multiple locations and workforce groups.

    • Strong understanding of end-to-end recruitment processes, including attraction, sourcing, selection and onboarding.

    • Experience managing high-volume recruitment activity, vacancy pipelines and recruitment performance.

    • Strong knowledge of safer recruitment practices, right-to-work legislation, GDPR and recruitment compliance requirements.

    • Experience using recruitment data and insight to improve performance and support workforce planning.

    • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders.

    • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver through others.

    Desirable

    • Experience working within adult social care, healthcare or another regulated environment.

    • Understanding of workforce challenges within care services, including frontline recruitment, shift-based staffing and hard-to-fill roles.

    • Experience developing employer brand strategies, recruitment campaigns and candidate attraction approaches.

    • Experience managing applicant tracking systems, recruitment technology and recruitment reporting.

    • Experience supporting international recruitment activity and immigration processes.

    • Experience presenting recruitment insight and recommendations to senior leadership teams.

    Additional Information

This is an opportunity to shape the future of recruitment within a growing care organisation, helping to build a strong and sustainable workforce that supports residents, colleagues and communities.

You will work alongside senior leaders to improve recruitment capability, strengthen talent pipelines and create a consistent experience for candidates from attraction through to onboarding.

The role is based at the Central Support Office in Darlington, with regular travel to homes and regional locations across the portfolio as required.

You will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS disclosure and comply with relevant licence checks in line with insurance requirements
