How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You will assess the technical and financial potential of renewable energy projects including solar PV, battery storage, wind, anaerobic digestion and combined heat and power. Using site data and energy consumption information, you will produce clear feasibility reports that help customers make confident investment decisions. This role would suit a practical and commercially aware energy professional who can combine technical analysis with straightforward customer advice.

    Key Responsibilities:

    *

Conduct detailed site surveys at farms, rural estates and horticultural businesses.

    *

Review energy bills, half-hourly consumption data and operational patterns to establish baseline demand.

    *

Assess site suitability for solar PV, battery storage, wind, anaerobic digestion, combined heat and power and energy efficiency improvements.

    *

Identify constraints relating to roof condition, land use, grid connection, planning, access and existing infrastructure.

    *

Model appropriate system sizes, expected generation, self-consumption, capital costs, savings, payback periods and carbon reductions.

    *

Prepare clear feasibility reports with practical and commercially sound recommendations.

    *

Present findings to customers in plain language and explain the risks, benefits and next steps.

    *

Liaise with installers, technology partners, electricity network operators and other project stakeholders.

    *

Review installer proposals and quotations to ensure solutions remain aligned with the customer's energy profile and objectives.

    *

Support customers from initial assessment through to supplier selection and project development while maintaining accurate records.

    Experience & Skills Required

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

    *

Demonstrate experience in renewable energy consultancy, energy auditing, electrical engineering, building services or a related technical role.

    *

Possess experience of conducting site surveys and gathering accurate technical data at commercial, industrial or rural properties.

    *

Understand one or more renewable technologies such as solar PV, battery storage, wind, anaerobic digestion or combined heat and power.

    *

Interpret electricity invoices, half-hourly consumption data, heat demand and fuel-use records.

    *

Evaluate technical feasibility, energy yield, capital costs, savings, payback and return on investment.

    *

Produce professional reports that turn detailed analysis into practical customer recommendations.

    *

Communicate technical and financial information clearly to customers with different levels of energy knowledge.

    *

Build trusted client relationships and manage field-based workloads with a high level of independence.

    *

Show an understanding of agricultural or horticultural operations or the ability to learn the sector quickly.

    *

Maintain awareness of planning requirements, grid connections, available incentives and environmental compliance.

    *

Hold a relevant engineering, energy or environmental qualification where possible and a full UK driving licence.
