How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The role

    The purpose of this role is leading the provision of business intelligence, data governance and performance insight across Property Operations, the role will transform complex operational data into actionable intelligence that supports strategic decision-making, drives service improvement, improves customer outcomes and enhances operational efficiency

    You will be the guardian of all Property Operations data and to support the Director of Home Repairs, Director of Home Safety and Improvements, Property Heads of Services and wider Property operational teams by ensuring accuracy of data. To help improve departmental and wider operational processes and efficiencies, and drive property operations forward through the insight you produce

    This role is part of Property where you'll help us to lead the way investing and maintaining 46,000 homes.

    What you'll achieve

    Be the guardian of all Property data ensuring its accuracy
    Be Property lead for all data related workflows/projects across the business
    Delivering insightful analysis, forecasting and reporting, to support Property and key internal stakeholders
    Recommending and implementing improvement initiatives from insight to benefit Property and the wider business
    Working with key stakeholders, influence change and present findings and solutions across the team and wider business and communicate recommendations effectively at all levels
    Supporting data governance framework across the team to ensure data quality remains at a high standard and providing management visibility of potential detriment
    Play a key role in ensuring smooth transition and ongoing management of data with stock disposal and acquisitions
    Support budget setting and cost reviews, to ensure consistency and transparency across teams in Property
    Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports and scorecards that support Property performance management and decision making
    Represent Property within Orbit's Power BI Virtual Team, supporting reporting standards, best practice and continuous improvementWhat you'll bring

    Essential skills

    Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, DAX and Excel (including Power Query).
    Experience developing reports, dashboards and performance management information
    Significant experience working with and analysing large and complex data sets
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and opportunities
    Ability to translate business requirements into meaningful insight and reporting outputs
    Experience in a similar business insight, reporting or analytics roleDesirable skills

    Experience within social housing, property services or asset management.
    Experience of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI Service.
    Knowledge of ActiveH and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
    Microsoft Power BI/Data Analyst certification (PL-300) or equivalent experienceWhy Orbit?
