How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    MIG/TIG Welder

    Location: Solihull
    Pay Rate: £15.00 - £17.00 per hour (DOE)
    Job Type: Full-Time | Temp to Perm

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG/TIG Welder to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in Solihull. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder looking to secure a long-term position with a successful and growing business.

    Hours of Work

    Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 3:30pm

    Friday: 7:00am - 1:00pm

    Early finish every Friday

    Full-time hours

    Temp to permanent opportunity for the right candidate

    The Role

    As a MIG/TIG Welder, you will be responsible for producing high-quality welded components while working from engineering drawings and specifications. You will be working with a variety of metals in a busy fabrication environment, ensuring all work meets quality standards.

    Duties Include

    MIG and TIG welding to a high standard

    Welding aluminium, zinc, stainless steel, mild steel and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals

    Fabricating and assembling metal components

    Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

    Producing both bespoke and batch work

    Grinding, linishing and finishing welded products

    Inspecting completed welds to ensure quality standards are met

    Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment

    Following health and safety procedures at all times

    Candidate Requirements

    Previous experience as a MIG/TIG Welder

    Experience welding aluminium is essential

    Experience working with zinc, stainless steel, mild steel and other metals is highly desirable

    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

    Good attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work

    Able to work independently and as part of a team

    Reliable, punctual and committed to long-term work

    Successful candidates will be required to complete an on-site practical MIG/TIG weld test as part of the interview process. Only applicants who successfully pass the weld test will be considered for the position.
