How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT – YEAR 2 – GLOBAL DEVELOPMENTAL DELAY – WESTMINSTER

    Location: Westminster, Central London
    Pay: £100–£115 per day
    Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
    Contract: Long-term
    Start Date: September 2026

    Enrich Education Recruitment is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Westminster seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 2 with Global Developmental Delay.

    This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or childcare professional who understands how to support a child working below age-related expectations across several areas of development.

    The school is looking for someone calm, patient and consistent who can build a secure and positive relationship with the child while supporting their communication, learning, independence and emotional wellbeing.

    THE ROLE

    As the Year 2 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to provide structured and individualised support throughout the school day.

    Your responsibilities may include:

    • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 child with Global Developmental Delay
    • Helping the child access classroom learning at an appropriate level
    • Breaking lessons, activities and instructions into manageable steps
    • Supporting communication, language and social interaction
    • Reinforcing early reading, phonics, writing and numeracy skills
    • Using repetition, modelling and visual resources to support understanding
    • Supporting transitions between lessons and activities
    • Encouraging confidence, independence and participation
    • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
    • Recording progress and sharing observations with the class teacher and SENCO
    • Following safeguarding procedures and school policies

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    The successful candidate should have:

    • Experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs
    • Experience supporting Global Developmental Delay or similar needs
    • Experience working with children in Key Stage 1
    • A calm, patient and nurturing approach
    • The ability to adapt learning activities to the child’s developmental level
    • Confidence supporting early literacy and numeracy
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills
    • The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff
    • A reliable and professional attitude
    • A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities

    DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

    The school would be particularly interested in candidates with experience using:

    • Visual timetables and now-and-next boards
    • Makaton, PECS or other communication strategies
    • Speech and language activities
    • Sensory strategies and movement breaks
    • Fine and gross motor skill activities
    • Emotional-regulation strategies
    • Structured 1:1 learning interventions
    • Positive behaviour-support techniques

    Experience within a mainstream primary school, specialist provision, nursery or another child-focused setting would be advantageous.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Have relevant experience supporting children with additional needs
    • Be available full-time from September 2026
    • Be able to commit to a long-term position
    • Have an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one
    • Be able to provide suitable professional references
    • Have the right to work in the UK
    • Understand safeguarding and professional conduct within schools
