How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Quantity Surveyor | Glasgow | £80,000–£85,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus

    Our client is a leading international main contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering complex construction, infrastructure and mission-critical projects across the UK and Europe. Following a sustained period of growth and continued project wins, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team in the Glasgow region.

    This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a high-performing business delivering major substation, MEP, data centre and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, while benefiting from genuine long-term career development opportunities within a rapidly growing organisation.

    The Role

    As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial delivery of major infrastructure and energy projects across Scotland and the wider UK.

    Working closely with operational teams, project stakeholders and supply chain partners, you will be responsible for managing commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered successfully while maximising value and mitigating risk.

    This role offers exposure to technically complex projects and would suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step within a business that is investing heavily in its future growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage the commercial delivery of major construction and infrastructure projects.
    * Prepare and administer subcontract packages, valuations, variations and final accounts.
    * Produce accurate cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow analysis.
    * Monitor project budgets and commercial performance.
    * Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
    * Support procurement activities and subcontractor negotiations.
    * Manage change control and contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle.
    * Work collaboratively with project delivery teams to achieve commercial and operational objectives.
    * Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
    * Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company commercial procedures.

    About You

    We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong commercial background and a proven track record working on major projects for recognised contractors.

    You will have:

    * Previous experience working for a leading main contractor or major infrastructure contractor.
    * Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
    * Experience managing subcontractor procurement and commercial administration.
    * Excellent cost reporting, forecasting and financial management skills.
    * Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
    * A proactive and collaborative approach to project delivery.

    Desirable Experience

    Experience in any of the following sectors would be highly advantageous:

    * Substations
    * High Voltage Infrastructure
    * MEP Projects
    * Data Centres
    * Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
    * Energy & Utilities
    * Major Infrastructure

    However, candidates with experience delivering major construction or infrastructure projects for recognised contractors are strongly encouraged to apply.

    What's on Offer?

    * Basic salary of £80,000–£85,000
    * Car allowance
    * Annual bonus
    * Comprehensive benefits package
    * Opportunity to join a market-leading international contractor
    * Long-term project pipeline across infrastructure, energy and mission-critical sectors
    * Clear career progression opportunities within a rapidly growing business
    * Exposure to some of the UK's most significant infrastructure and energy projects
    * Supportive and collaborative working environment

    Why Apply?

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a contractor that is experiencing significant growth and success across some of the construction industry's most resilient and fastest-growing sectors. You'll have the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while developing your career within a business that actively promotes from within and invests in its people.

    If you're an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for your next challenge with a forward-thinking international contractor, we'd love to hear from you.
