How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Alloys Materials Sortation Operative

    Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Alloys Materials Sortation Operative to join our production team. This role is ideally suited to someone with a solid background in the scrap metal, recycling, or revert materials sector who has a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of alloy classification.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, identifying, and grading a wide range of metal materials, ensuring they meet strict quality standards and customer specifications.

    Key Responsibilities

    Inspect and classify incoming metal and revert materials using handheld XRF equipment and visual assessment techniques.
    Sort materials accurately according to alloy grade, composition, quality standards, and customer requirements.
    Detect and isolate contaminated materials, including welded repairs, coatings, inserts, attachments, and other foreign substances.
    Maintain rigorous segregation procedures to ensure material traceability and eliminate the risk of cross-contamination.
    Record inspection findings and grading outcomes accurately using company systems and processes.
    Liaise closely with production personnel to ensure material flows efficiently through the operation.
    Support quality control initiatives and contribute to maintaining high industry standards across the site.
    Report directly to the Production Manager on material quality and operational issues.Candidate Requirements

    Previous experience working within the metal recycling, scrap, revert, or specialist alloy industry.
    At least two years' experience identifying, sorting, or grading metallic materials.
    Strong knowledge of nickel-based alloys, stainless steels, titanium, cobalt alloys, or other high-performance metals.
    Proven ability to identify contamination and assess material suitability for reuse and processing.
    Experience using handheld X-ray fluorescence analysers is essential.
    Good understanding of quality requirements within highly regulated industries such as aerospace, defence, medical, and energy sectors.
    Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately and independently.
    Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.What We're Looking For
