How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Barnsley
    Pay: £35.00–£40.00 per hour
    Hours: 5 hours per week
    Start Date: September 2026 

    Provide Education is seeking a GCSE Biology Tutor to support a motivated young person through bespoke 1:1 tuition in their home in the Barnsley area.
    This rewarding opportunity involves working with a student who is currently educated at home due to a visual impairment. They are preparing to sit their GCSE Biology examination next year and are on track to achieve a Grade 4 or above. They are highly engaged with their learning, work exceptionally hard, and aspire to progress to college before pursuing a career in nursing or healthcare.

    This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference by providing tailored academic support that helps the student reach their full potential.
    The Role
    Deliver engaging and personalised GCSE Biology tuition on a 1:1 basis.
    Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the student's individual learning needs.
    Ensure all lesson materials are accessible, with a minimum font size of 18 to support the student's visual impairment.
    Build confidence, reinforce subject knowledge, and prepare the student for their GCSE examinations.
    Provide regular feedback on progress and work collaboratively with the wider support network where appropriate.We are looking for someone who has:

    Experience teaching or tutoring GCSE Biology.
    Strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
    Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs or adapting learning to meet individual requirements (desirable).
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    A patient, encouraging, and flexible approach to teaching.
    A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their educational goals.What We Offer
