How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Join Lincolnshire Police's Team as an Archive Clerk (Major Crimes Unit)!

    Are you detail-oriented, organised, and eager to contribute to public service? Our client, a dedicated organisation within the public sector, is seeking a committed Archive Clerk to support the Major Crimes Unit in Sleaford. This is an exciting temporary opportunity to make a difference in the field of law enforcement!

    Position Details:

    Contract Type: Temporary
    Contract Length: 6 months
    Hourly Rate: £12.83
    Working Pattern: Full Time

    Job Purpose and Scope:

    As an Archive Clerk within the Major Crime Unit, you will play a vital role in auditing, copying, and scanning materials related to historical undetected murders onto the HOLMES computer system. Your responsibilities will ensure the quality, accuracy, and validity of information, in compliance with force policies, national guidance, and the Data Protection Act 1984.

    Core Responsibilities:

    Audit materials related to historical undetected murder investigations.
    Copy and scan documents onto the HOLMES system.
    Digitally preserve records for future access.
    Maintain and update information on HOLMES and other force systems.
    Create and manage both manual and computerised records for data integrity.
    Provide guidance on effective records management.
    Archive physical case files and maintain security protocols.
    Interrogate IT systems for case/crime metadata.
    Maintain accurate records and support the MCU team with administrative tasks.What You Bring:

    Experience:

    Administrative experience with data input and retrieval.
    Knowledge of handling sensitive information.Skills:

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    Exceptional organisational skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
    Proficient in using IT software and systems, including Microsoft Office.
    Ability to research and interrogate various force systems.Knowledge:

    Understanding of MoPI regarding records management.
    Familiarity with the Data Protection Act and Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996.Social Skills:

    Ability to build strong working relationships.
    Flexible team player with adaptability to change.Motivation/Commitment:

    Self-motivated and able to work independently.
