How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Administrator - Health and adult Services

    5 days a week in the office are required.

    To provide clerical and administrative assistance Occassional supervisory responsibility Maintain diaries and arrange appointments

    To be responsible for actively supporting the council’s equal opportunities policy and for promoting positive attitudes towards minority ethnic groups, women, lesbian and gay men, and people with disabilities.

    To carry out all duties with due regard to the provision of health and safety regulations, the council’s equal opportunities and customer care policies and new technology agreement.

    To provide support to the team manager and team staff when producing letters, reports, minute taking, photocopying and other office related tasks

    To effectively deal with telephone calls giving clear and precise information, problem solving where appropriate and communicating with colleagues. To provide support to the duty phone system – answering calls, taking message, referring and responding as necessary.

    To maintain and support the Shared Lives record keeping and filing systems (paper and electronic). To accurately record and maintain statistical information as required

    To collect, organise and distribute mail to relevant officers. To assist the team manager in the compilation of mail-outs and letters, along with the production of a quarterly newsletter.

    To provide support to the team manager when arranging meetings and with taking minutes/writing up of minutes in an accurate and timely manner

    To occasionally provide administrative support to vulnerable users of the service including supporting to complete quality assurance questionnaires in an independent way

    To utilise information technology and word processing packages to prepare and distribute reports, agendas, statistics, spreadsheets and other correspondence on behalf of the team manager.

    At the direction of management to actively support other team members where required and where work has been prioritised accordingly 3. Professional Development

    To participate in team meetings and to be involved in the planning, co-ordination and implementation of Shared Lives policies as directed.

    To undergo training as required to improve own personal and professional skills.

    To request and receive 1:1 supervision for the purpose of professional development d) To participate in the staff appraisal and development processes (PRaDS). 4. Any Other Duties

    To undertake any other work appropriate to the level and general nature of the duties of the post

    To carry out all duties with due regard to the provisions of health and safety regulations and legislation, Data protection legislation, the Council’s equal opportunities and customer care policies, and any local agreements Ability to prioritise and manage own workload Able to work to deadlines and undertake designated tasks with minimum supervision Ability to take notes at meetings and produce minutes in a timely manner Able to communicate effectively and professionally to a range of people, including service users, both face to face and on the telephone Ability to prepare, collate and distribute information, mail-outs and letters independently. Ability to book rooms, plan and organise meetings and support events as required Experience in working in an administrative capacity within a busy team or service. Experience and understanding of working with people with a learning disability and/or in another social care setting in an administrative capacity. Understanding of, and commitment to, the Council’s equal opportunities policies and ability to promote and put into practice in the context of this post
