How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Field Service Engineer (Laboratory Equipment)

    Are you an Electro-Mechanical Field Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or Service Technician looking to join a global manufacturer renowned for its high-precision scientific instrumentation?

    In this varied field-based role, you'll split your time between customer sites and the service workshop, carrying out preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs and calibration on specialist laboratory equipment used across manufacturing, research and quality control environments.

    You'll receive comprehensive product training at European service centres before being supported by experienced engineers through an ongoing mentoring programme, giving you every opportunity to develop specialist expertise and progress your career within a stable, growing organisation.

    This position would suit an Engineer with mechanical & electrical experience or who has previously worked in laboratories before, looking for a long-term career move.

    The Role:

    Planned and reactive maintenance and service work on specialist laboratory and testing equipment
    Install, calibrate and commission electromechanical equipment at customer sites
    Mixture of workshop and fieldbased work which will involve covering the whole of the UK
    The Candidate:

    Electromechanical Engineer or experience working on laboratory/testing equipment
    Full UK driving licence
