How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client is a well-established, privately owned shipping company specialising in international sea freight services. Due to continued growth within their Export Division, they are looking to recruit two permanent Shipping Export Operators to join their busy Export Consol team based in Romford.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced freight forwarding professional to join a successful and growing business where you will play a key role in coordinating export consol shipments from start to finish.

    Key Responsibilities

    Coordinate and manage sea freight export consol shipments.
    Liaise with customers, shipping lines, overseas agents and internal departments to ensure the smooth movement of cargo.
    Prepare and process all export documentation accurately.
    Coordinate cargo movements and monitor shipments through to completion.
    Ensure shipments comply with all relevant customs and shipping regulations.
    Maintain accurate shipment records and provide regular updates to customers where required.
    Manage multiple shipments simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining excellent customer service.To be considered for this role, you will have:

    Previous Sea Freight Export experience within a freight forwarding environment.
    Experience of Sea Freight Export Consol operations.
    NVOCC export operations experience would be highly advantageous.
    Strong communication and organisational skills.
    The ability to manage multiple shipments and prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
    Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. Salary range is £25-35k dependent on experience and knowledge of Sea Freight Export/NVOCC operations.
