BMR Solutions are currently recruiting for a Shipping Administrator to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Chippenham. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy logistics team on an ongoing contract, supporting UK and international shipping operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This position would suit someone with previous shipping or export administration experience who enjoys working in a highly organised environment where attention to detail is essential.
The Role
Working as part of the Logistics team, you will be responsible for coordinating UK and international shipments, preparing export documentation and ensuring goods are despatched accurately and on time. You will also support customs compliance and export control activities while liaising with internal departments, freight forwarders and customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare all documentation for UK and international shipments.
* Process export and import customs declarations.
* Arrange shipments with freight forwarders, couriers and UK transport providers.
* Track shipments and ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
* Produce shipping documentation and certificates of shipment.
* Monitor transport costs and support KPI achievement.
* Complete monthly reporting and maintain accurate shipping records.
* Check and process freight invoices.
* Investigate shipping and customer queries.
* Liaise with warehouse personnel, suppliers, carriers and customers.
* Support the warehouse and despatch operation with packing, documentation and shipping labels when required.
* Assist with export control and customs compliance activities.
About You
To be successful in this role you should have:
* Previous experience within a Shipping Administrator, Export Administrator or Logistics Administration role.
* Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Knowledge of UK export and import procedures and customs documentation.
* Good understanding of Incoterms.
* Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
* Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
* The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
* A full UK driving licence.
The following would be advantageous:
* Forklift licence or previous forklift experience.
* Health & Safety training.
* Knowledge of manual handling procedures.
* Experience with lifting plans or specialist freight movements.
