How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Workshop Engineer (Agriculture)
    Location: Daventry, Northamptonshire (applications welcome from surrounding areas)
    Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 DOE
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30/17:00

    The Role
    As a Workshop Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of garden, groundcare, and agricultural machinery, ensuring equipment is returned to customers operating at peak performance.
    Your responsibilities will include:
    . Diagnosing faults and carrying out mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairs
    . Servicing and maintaining garden and groundcare equipment
    . Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance
    . Completing job cards and maintaining accurate service records
    . Ensuring all work is carried out safely and to manufacturer standards
    . Working closely with the Service Manager to meet workshop targets and customer expectations
    . Providing a high level of customer service and technical support when required
    About You
    To be considered for this position, you should have:
    . Previous experience working on agricultural, groundcare, plant, construction, horticultural, or similar machinery
    . Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities
    . Good mechanical, hydraulic and electrical knowledge
    . A proactive and self-motivated approach to work
    . Excellent communication and customer service skills
    . The ability to work independently and as part of a team
    . A full UK driving licence
