How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An established and highly respected Chartered Building Contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join its growing delivery team.

    The Role

    Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of construction projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

    Projects typically include refurbishment, fit-out, heritage restoration, commercial, education, healthcare and residential developments throughout London and the South East.

    Key Responsibilities
    Manage day-to-day site operations from mobilisation through to completion and handover.
    Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, direct labour and suppliers.
    Ensure works are delivered safely, in accordance with current Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
    Monitor programme performance and proactively resolve any delays.
    Maintain exceptional quality standards through regular inspections and quality control procedures.
    Chair site progress meetings and coordinate activities between all trades.
    Review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work are implemented.
    Manage site logistics, deliveries and material coordination.
    Liaise with clients, consultants, project teams and local stakeholders.
    Oversee snagging, de-snagging and successful project handover.
    Maintain accurate site records, reports and progress updates. About You

    We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent leadership and communication skills.
    You will have:

    Proven experience as a Site Manager within the UK construction industry.
    Experience delivering refurbishment, fit-out or new-build projects.
    Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
    Excellent organisational and planning skills.
    The ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain programme delivery.
    Experience working closely with clients and professional teams.
    A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
    Strong IT skills and confidence using digital site management platforms. Essential Qualifications
    SMSTS
    CSCS Black Card (or appropriate management card)
    First Aid at Work
