How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Contract: Long-term temporary

    What you will be doing
Working under the direction of the class teacher and wider inclusion team, you will:
    • Support pupils during whole-class teaching and independent activities
    • Deliver individual and small-group interventions
    • Help children develop their literacy, numeracy and communication skills
    • Prepare learning resources and organise classroom materials
    • Encourage positive behaviour, participation and independence
    • Provide additional support to pupils who need help accessing the curriculum
    • Observe pupils and share relevant feedback with the class teacher
    • Supervise pupils during transitions, breaktimes and school activities
    • Support children’s personal, social and emotional development
    • Help maintain a safe, inclusive and well-organised learning environment
    • Depending on the needs of the school, you may work with a particular class, support pupils across several year groups or provide focused assistance to children with additional needs.
    About you
    • Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare or youth setting
    • A genuine interest in education and child development
    • Confidence supporting basic literacy and numeracy
    • A patient, positive and consistent approach
    • The ability to follow teachers’ instructions and school procedures
    • Strong teamwork and communication skills
    • Reliability, professionalism and good timekeeping
    • A commitment to equality, inclusion and safeguarding
    • A Level 2 or Level 3 teaching assistant qualification is desirable but not essential where applicants can demonstrate suitable classroom or child-related experience.
    What the opportunity offers
    • Competitive pay of £90–£100 per day
    • A full-time, long-term placement from September 2026
    • Consistent experience within one primary school
    • Opportunities to work across different primary phases
    • Experience delivering targeted pupil interventions
    • Support from experienced teachers and school leaders
    • A valuable route into teacher training or further education-based study
    • A dedicated Transparency Education consultant throughout the placement
