How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Engineering Administrator 
    Location: Hessle
    Salary: £27,000 - £30,000

    Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be working with our client to recruit an Engineering Administrator for maternity cover to commence employment early September.
    This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy Engineering department, supporting the smooth management of technical documentation, engineering records and project administration within a collaborative and professional environment.

    If you enjoy working with detailed information, supporting technical teams and ensuring documentation is accurate and well organised, this Engineering Administrator position offers the opportunity to develop your skills while playing an important role in successful project delivery.

    The Opportunity:
    As an Engineering Administrator you'll play a key role in:

    Recording and maintaining engineering drawings and technical documentation within the company database.
    Creating PDF versions of CAD drawings and ensuring documents follow established naming conventions.
    Issuing drawings and documentation to clients and third parties using approved document control procedures.
    Supporting engineering projects by creating SAP items, generating Bills of Materials (BOMs) and maintaining project schedules.
    Providing administrative support to the Engineering department, including document scanning, visitor reception, stock control and telephone enquiries. Your work will directly contribute to the efficient delivery of engineering projects by ensuring technical documentation is accurate, controlled and readily available.

    About You: We're looking for someone who can bring:

    Previous experience within an engineering administration or document control environment.
    Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
    Strong data entry, document management and organisational skills.
    Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems would be advantageous.
    Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy across multiple tasks.
    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    A collaborative approach with the confidence to work alongside engineers and designers.
    A professional, dependable and ethical approach with an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and intellectual property protection.
    A willingness to learn new systems and continuously develop your knowledge.
