How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Project Automation Engineer
    Life Sciences | Pharmaceutical | BMS | SCADA | Automation

    Eden Brown is working with a leading engineering and construction consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Project Engineer - Automation to support the delivery of a major pharmaceutical manufacturing expansion project.

    Working within a highly regulated GMP environment, you will play a key role in the development, implementation, testing and commissioning of automation systems across process equipment, cleanrooms and critical utilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an automation professional with experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences or other regulated manufacturing sectors.

    Key Responsibilities

    Support the design and delivery of automation solutions in line with project requirements and digital standards.
    Develop and review URS, FDS and system design documentation.
    Provide technical oversight of PLC, SCADA, DCS and Building Management Systems (BMS).
    Coordinate integration with MES, historians and wider digital platforms.
    Support commissioning, FAT, SAT, qualification and validation activities.
    Review vendor and contractor designs and technical submissions.
    Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and FMEA workshops.
    Ensure compliance with GMP, CSV, data integrity and cybersecurity requirements.
    Maintain accurate project documentation and system handover records.
    Experience Required

    Degree qualified in Automation, Control Systems, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
    Proven automation engineering experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences or other highly regulated industries.
    Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, DCS and industrial control systems.
    Experience supporting commissioning, qualification and validation activities.
    Good understanding of GMP, CSV and data integrity requirements.
    Experience working with external vendors, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
    Desirable

    Experience within sterile manufacturing or aseptic processing environments.
    Knowledge of EU GMP, Annex 1, MHRA or FDA regulations.
    Exposure to MES integration and digital manufacturing projects.
    Understanding of OT cybersecurity requirements.
