We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company based in Barnsley for an experienced Fabricator to join their growing team. Operating within the heavy engineering sector, the business has built an excellent reputation for producing high-quality fabricated components for a wide range of industrial applications. The successful Fabricator will be responsible for manufacturing a variety of heavy engineering fabrications using engineering drawings and specifications. You will work with heavy gauge steel, ensuring all products are fabricated accurately and to the highest standards. The role is suited to someone who takes pride in their workmanship and enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricating heavy engineering components from detailed engineering drawings.
Measuring, marking out, cutting and assembling steel components.
Working with heavy gauge materials and structural fabrications.
Carrying out tack welding where required during the fabrication process.
Using a range of hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and customer specifications.
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Working closely with colleagues to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Fabricator within the heavy engineering industry.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Experience working with heavy gauge steel and large fabricated assemblies.
Confident using fabrication tools and equipment.
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to health and safety.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 3:45pm
Friday: 6:00am – 1:00pm
