How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    What's in it for you?

    ●Private medical insurance
    ●Life insurance
●Hybrid working (2 days from home)

    What will you be doing?
●Producing schematic drawings, general arrangements and detailed technical drawings
●Selecting hardware, including cable sizing, switchgear and starter circuits (DOL/star-delta, soft start and inverter)
    ●Designing analogue I/O and sourcing/sinking circuits
●Supporting EMC design, surge protection and installation/containment design
●Putting together design schedules (I/O lists, instrument and motor lists), specifications and test documentation
●Providing site support during testing and commissioning
●Working closely with the Lead Project Engineer and the wider design team

    Where you'll be doing it
Our client is a leading engineering company delivering mechanical, structural and EC&I turnkey solutions for the UK's national infrastructure. You'll be based at their head office in Retford, working as part of a close-knit design team, with travel to national and international sites as projects require.

    What you'll need

●A good grounding in schematic drawings, general arrangements and technical drawings
●Understanding of hardware selection, cable sizing and switchgear
●Knowledge of starter circuits (DOL/star-delta, soft start and inverter) and analogue I/O
●Awareness of EMC design, surge protection and containment design
●Good communication skills and a methodical, practical approach
●A genuine desire to keep developing technically and progress into a senior design role
