How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Smile Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Solihull to recruit an enthusiastic Unqualified Teacher to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, experienced Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants, Behaviour Mentors, Sports Coaches, Youth Workers or graduates looking to gain valuable classroom experience before progressing into teacher training.
    The successful candidate will deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects, manage classroom behaviour effectively and help create a positive learning environment where students can thrive.
    šŸ« The Role
    Deliver pre-planned lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
    Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a purposeful learning environment.
    Support students with their learning, ensuring they remain engaged throughout lessons.
    Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour.
    Build positive relationships with students, staff and the wider school community.
    Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote high standards of behaviour and attendance.
    Adapt confidently to different subjects and classroom settings when required.āœ… What We're Looking For
    Previous experience working with young people in a school, coaching, mentoring, youth work or a similar setting.
    Confident leading a classroom and managing student behaviour.
    A positive, resilient and proactive approach to supporting students.
    A genuine passion for education and helping young people succeed.
    An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, graduates, Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants, Behaviour Mentors, Learning Support Assistants, Sports Coaches and Youth Workers looking to build experience within a secondary school.
