How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you an Electrical Technician with experience installing or maintaining electrical equipment looking to develop your skills within the power industry?

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding business following continued contract wins within the electricity industry. Specialising in the installation and maintenance of condition monitoring equipment for high-voltage assets, the company is looking for a Field Service Technician to support its continued growth.

    In this role, you will install, maintain and relocate specialist condition monitoring equipment at HV substations across the UK. You will also carry out site surveys, electrical testing and prepare technical documentation, while receiving continuous on-the-job training to develop from Technician into Engineer.

    The ideal candidate will have at least one year's experience installing and maintaining electrical equipment, along with a relevant engineering qualification and a desire to develop within the power industry.

    The Role:

    Field Service Technician - Full specialist training and progression into an Engineer
    Installation, maintenance and relocation of condition monitoring equipment for HV assets

    Based in or around Glasgow with regular travel across the UK

    The Person:

    Relevant Electrical qualification (Minimum HNC or equivalent)
    At least one year's experience installing and maintaining electrical equipment
    Looking to build a long-term career within the power industry
    Full UK driving licence
