How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Quantity Surveyor (Project Delivery) – Glasgow

    Location: Glasgow
    Working Pattern: Hybrid – Office and Home-Based Working
    Sector: Nuclear Defence / Major Infrastructure
    Salary: Up to £75,000

    We are recruiting an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of major infrastructure programmes within the UK nuclear defence sector.

    This role is focused on project delivery and post-contract commercial management, ensuring commercial performance is maintained throughout project execution.

    The Role

    As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will manage the commercial delivery of projects from contract award through to final account, working closely with project teams to maximise commercial performance while ensuring contractual compliance.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage commercial delivery across major engineering and infrastructure projects.
    Administer NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
    Prepare valuations, applications for payment and cost reports.
    Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and final accounts.
    Assess and manage compensation events and contract variations.
    Produce accurate forecasts, CVRs and commercial reporting.
    Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
    Support project managers with commercial advice.
    Ensure contractual compliance throughout project delivery.
    Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and project stakeholders.

    Skills & Experience

    Candidates should demonstrate:

    Strong post-contract Quantity Surveying experience.
    Excellent knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
    Experience managing subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
    Strong commercial reporting and forecasting skills.
    Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
    Experience within infrastructure, defence, engineering, construction or nuclear sectors.
    Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
    Membership of RICS or CICES would be advantageous.

    Security Requirements

    Due to the nature of the projects, the successful candidate may be required to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of UK security clearance.
