How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Undertaking feasibility studies, preparing specifications, obtaining estimates and statutory approvals, and administering building contracts.
Working with standard forms of contract including JCT and NEC.
Providing a full range of professional Building Surveying services.
Leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing client relationships.
Mentoring and developing junior Building Surveyors, including supporting APC candidates through the RICS process.
Supporting senior leadership with project delivery, business operations and team management.
Carrying out surveys, inspections, schedules of condition and a range of professional consultancy services.
Identifying and developing new business opportunities, including preparing fee proposals and tender submissions.
Ensuring projects are delivered in line with quality, health & safety and statutory compliance requirements.

    About You

We're keen to hear from candidates who have:

A BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or another RICS-accredited degree.
MRICS Chartered status (or be working towards chartership if applying at Senior level).
Strong technical Building Surveying experience across a range of project and professional services.
Experience managing client relationships and delivering projects commercially.
The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Experience mentoring and developing junior colleagues.
Excellent report writing and technical documentation skills, including feasibility studies, specifications and asset reviews.
A strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and statutory compliance.
Commercial awareness with an interest in business development and winning new work.
Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
