About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Construction Manager to oversee the safe and successful delivery of mechanical and electrical construction projects. As a Site Construction Manager you will manage subcontractors, coordinate site activities and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day construction activities on site.
* Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
* Supervise subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
* Coordinate civil, mechanical and electrical installation activities.
* Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and all SHEQ requirements.
* Maintain site health, safety and environmental standards.
* Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks and safety inspections.
* Issue and manage Permit to Work (PTW) and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
* Monitor quality standards and inspect completed works.
* Verify compliance with approved designs, Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
* Liaise with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and design clashes.
* Coordinate site resources to maximise efficiency.
* Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) as required.
* Manage temporary works in accordance with approved procedures.
* Maintain accurate site records and project documentation.
* Support the Project Manager in achieving commercial and programme objectives.
Skills & Experience
* ONC/OND, NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
* SMSTS, NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
* Valid CSCS Card.
* Minimum 5 years' experience delivering mechanical and/or electrical construction projects.
* Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations, SHEQ requirements and ISO quality standards.
* Experience managing subcontractors on live construction sites.
* Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor qualification (desirable).
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
* Commercial awareness with a focus on safe, efficient project delivery.
* Ability to work independently and build effective relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
Salary description
£50000.00 - £60000.00 per year
