How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you an experienced IT professional looking for a role where you'll work with modern technologies, contribute to infrastructure projects and continue developing your technical expertise?

We're working with a successful and well-established manufacturing business to recruit an Infrastructure Engineer to join their internal IT team. Supporting a multi-site operation, you'll play a key role in maintaining and developing the organisation's infrastructure, ensuring critical systems remain secure, reliable and fit for the future.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys technical variety, thrives on solving complex infrastructure challenges and wants to be involved in projects that make a genuine difference to the business.

    The Role

Working as part of an experienced infrastructure team, you'll be responsible for supporting, maintaining and enhancing the organisation's IT environment, while contributing to a range of infrastructure and business improvement projects.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Providing 2nd and 3rd line support for infrastructure-related issues
Administering and maintaining Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments
Supporting Azure cloud services and hybrid infrastructure
Managing VMware virtual environments and on-premise servers
Monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure, firewalls and security solutions
Supporting infrastructure upgrades, migrations and new technology implementations
    Producing and maintaining technical documentation
Working closely with colleagues across the wider IT function to deliver secure, reliable and resilient IT services
Identifying opportunities to improve performance, security and operational efficiency What You'll Bring

You'll already have experience working in an IT Infrastructure, Infrastructure Support or 2nd/3rd Line role and be confident supporting business-critical IT systems.

We're looking for someone who can bring:

Previous experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure in a 2nd or 3rd line capacity
A strong understanding of Microsoft server and cloud technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365
Experience working with virtualised environments, networking and infrastructure technologies, with exposure to Azure, VMware or SQL Server being advantageous
A proactive approach to troubleshooting, infrastructure improvements and technical project work
The ability to communicate technical information clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues
A genuine enthusiasm for technology and a desire to continue developing your infrastructure knowledge Experience within a manufacturing or multi-site environment would be beneficial but isn't essential.

    What's in it for You?

This organisation continues to invest in both its technology and its people, providing the opportunity to work with a broad range of enterprise infrastructure while developing your skills through ongoing project work and professional training.

    In return, you'll benefit from:

Salary of £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
    Contributory pension scheme
    Company laptop and mobile phone
Flexible working where business needs allow
Ongoing technical training and career development
Exposure to a wide range of Microsoft and infrastructure technologies
A collaborative team environment with genuine long-term career prospects If you're looking for a role where you can broaden your technical expertise, work on meaningful infrastructure projects and build a long-term career within a successful organisation, we'd love to hear from you.
