How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    ASC Learning Support Assistant – Graduates Welcome
    Eastbourne
    Full / Part Time Work Available
    September 2026 Start

    Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)? Perhaps you are a graduate looking to begin a career in education, psychology, SEN or teaching, or you already have experience supporting individuals with additional needs.

    Supply Desk are looking for a caring, patient and enthusiastic ASC Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive school in the Eastbourne area. You will work closely with pupils with ASC, helping them access learning, develop their communication skills and become more confident and independent within the school environment.

    Previous school experience is desirable but not essential, as training and ongoing support will be provided.

    The Role

    Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with ASC
    Supporting pupils’ individual learning, communication, sensory and emotional needs
    Helping pupils follow structured routines and manage transitions throughout the school day
    Using visual resources, communication aids and autism-friendly strategies
    Encouraging positive behaviour, social interaction and independence
    Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support professionals
    Creating a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment
    Monitoring pupils’ progress and providing feedback to the class teacher

    Minimum Requirements

    A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with ASC and additional needs
    A calm, patient and compassionate approach
    Good communication and teamwork skills
    A willingness to learn and undertake relevant training
    Previous experience supporting individuals with ASC is desirable but not essential
    An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain a new one
