How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised and proactive HSQE Administrator / Advisor to join a growing and highly respected construction contractor based in Billericay. With over 40 years of experience within the construction industry, the business has built an excellent reputation for delivering high quality projects across commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, residential and public sector developments.

    Operating throughout London and the South East, they provide a wide range of specialist construction services, working alongside many of the UK's leading contractors, developers and end clients. The company places a strong emphasis on health and safety, quality, sustainability and continuous improvement, investing heavily in its people and fostering a collaborative working environment.

    Due to continued growth and an increasing portfolio of projects, they are now looking to strengthen their HSQE team with the addition of an enthusiastic HSQE Administrator / Advisor. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive business where you'll gain exposure to a wide variety of live construction projects while developing your career within Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental management.

    The Role

    Reporting directly to the HSQE Manager, you will provide administrative and practical support across all areas of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental compliance, helping to ensure projects are delivered safely and in line with company procedures.

    The role is primarily based at the company's head office in Billericay, with regular travel to project sites across London and the South East.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Assist the HSQE Manager with the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

    * Prepare project health and safety folders and site documentation.

    * Carry out site inspections and assist with routine site audits.

    * Attend site visits to support project teams and monitor compliance.

    * Assist with incident reporting and follow-up actions where required.

    * Maintain health and safety records and ensure documentation remains up to date.

    * Provide general administrative support to the HSQE and project teams.

    * Prepare project documentation and compliance packs.

    * Assist with document management and filing systems.

    * Coordinate project administration and support operational teams.

    * Help ensure company procedures and compliance documentation are maintained.

    * Assist with Fire Safety administration and compliance.

    * Coordinate new starter inductions and health & safety inductions.

    * Maintain training records and certification

    * Assist with waste management monitoring and reporting.

    About You

    We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and keen to develop within an HSQE environment.

    You'll ideally have:

    * Previous experience in an HSQE Administrator, Health & Safety Administrator, Project Administrator or Compliance role within construction, engineering or a similar industry.

    * A good understanding of health and safety documentation, including RAMS.

    * Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.

    * Confident communication skills and the ability to build relationships across project teams.

    * Full UK Driving Licence (preferred due to regular travel).

    * NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely or similar qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
