How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    HSE Recruitment have partnered with a manufacturing company in Hull to find a Health and Safety Specialist for a maternity cover, which will run until September 2027. We are looking for someone who can start asap for this position.

    The salary is up to £45,000 + up to 5% quarterly bonus which is regularly paid out.

    This is a Monday-Friday site based role but there is flexibility on your start and finish time.

    Working within a HSEQ department and reporting into the QHSE Manager you will:

    To proactively identify issues and solve problems relating to compliance and regulatory matters within the company and lead on health and safety improvements.
    Develop and implement business safety processes and standards.
    Support the Senior Management Team in maintaining a safe working environment, the wellbeing of all employees, visitors and contractor in full compliance with all legal obligations.

    What we are looking for:

    NEBOSH Certificate level qualification (or equivalent).
    Experience with at least 1 years’ experience in a health and safety advisor role within a manufacturing business.
    Immediately available or available at short notice.
    Experience managing electrical safety would be beneficial.
    Ability to demonstrate flexibility /versatility combined with initiative, drive, and ability to meet deadlines.
    Approachable, human, and fair with an inherent drive to continuously deliver an exceptional service to colleagues, end users, direct reports, and senior stakeholders.
    Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a wide variety of key stakeholders.
