The BMS Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for the testing, commissioning and handover of Tridium Niagara and Trend Building Management Systems.
Duties:
* Commission Trend and Distech/Niagara BMS, including controllers, field devices, and networks.
* Perform point-to-point checks, I/O testing, and functional commissioning.
* Configure and validate control sequences to project specifications.
* Commission and modify BMS software, graphics, alarms, trends, and schedules.
* Optimise HVAC performance through PID loop tuning.
* Diagnose and resolve BMS, HVAC, and communication faults.
* Integrate third-party systems using BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, and Modbus.
* Support witness testing, Soft Landings, and seasonal commissioning.
* Produce commissioning records, test sheets, and handover documentation.
* Deliver client training and support O&M documentation.
* Maintain compliance with CDM Regulations, RAMS, and site H&S requirements.
Experience and Skills Required:
* 2+ years' experience commissioning BMS systems on site.
* Strong knowledge of HVAC plant and building services.
* Proficient in reading consultant specifications, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
* Skilled in fault finding and technical problem-solving.
* Good understanding of IP networking and structured cabling.
* Confident communicator with client-facing experience.
* Experience with Distech and Tridium/Niagara systems.
* Create and modify Distech/Tridium strategies and graphics.
* Strong knowledge of IP and MS/TP networking.
* Configure alarms, schedules, and trend logs.
Qualifications:
* HNC/HND or Degree in Building Services, Electrical Engineering, Controls, or equivalent industry experience.
* Distech/Tridium manufacturer training (desirable).
* Manufacturer certification in BMS platforms, e.g. Trend SET or Niagara AX/N4 (advantageous).
* Full UK driving licence.
* ECS/CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification.
