How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are seeking an experienced Site Manager for a 3–4 week assignment on a project in Lewisham. The successful candidate will take day-to-day responsibility for managing the groundworks package, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the programme and quality standards.

    *Candidate will need to work Saturdays as well.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Manage and supervise the groundworks subcontractor on site.

    * Ensure all works are carried out safely and in line with company Health & Safety policies.

    * Conduct daily site inspections and monitor the quality of workmanship.

    * Coordinate daily activities to ensure the programme is maintained.

    * Review and implement RAMS and ensure all operatives are working in accordance with approved methods.

    * Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings where required.

    * Liaise with the Project Manager and provide regular progress updates.

    * Identify and resolve site issues proactively to minimise delays.

    * Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries and H&S documentation.

    * Coordinate deliveries and site logistics relating to the groundworks package.

    * Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained throughout the works.

    Essential Requirements:

    * Proven experience as a Site Manager overseeing groundworks or civil engineering packages.

    * Valid SMSTS certificate.

    * Valid CSCS card (Manager level preferred).

    * First Aid at Work certificate.

    * Strong understanding of groundworks operations, site safety, and construction sequencing.

    * Ability to manage subcontractors effectively and communicate with all stakeholders.

    * Good organisational skills with a proactive approach to problem solving.

    Desirable

    Temporary Works awareness/coordinator training.

    Experience working on residential or mixed-use developments.

    Knowledge of quality assurance procedures and snagging processes
