How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Design Engineer
    Worcester, Droitwich Spa, Kidderminster, Redditch, Bromsgrove

    Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer with SolidWorks experience looking to work on specialist, high-performance engineering projects where you'll take designs from concept through to manufacture while developing innovative mechanical solutions?
    On offer is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established engineering manufacturer, working on bespoke products used in engine and motor testing. You'll become part of a collaborative engineering team with the chance to work on technically challenging projects and contribute to the development of industry-leading equipment.
    Work for a respected manufacturer of specialist testing equipment, designing and improving mechanical products used across a range of industries. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support new product development, improve existing designs, and provide technical support across the full product lifecycle.
    The day-to-day of this role includes designing mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks, developing bespoke customer solutions, improving existing products, producing technical drawings and documentation, supporting manufacturing and product testing, and working closely with sales, production, and commissioning teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
    The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical design, strong SolidWorks skills, and a background designing rotating mechanical equipment or similar high-speed machinery. Experience with product testing or test cells would also be highly beneficial.

    Monday to Friday, office-based in Worcester
