How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Company:
A global leader in high-quality, safety-critical products is looking for a Project Specification & Solution Manager to join their expanding team.
What the Project Specification & Solution Manager involves:
    * Develop and grow a pipeline of specification opportunities by building relationships with architects, consultants, contractors, end users and indirect customers.
    * Generate new business by identifying project opportunities, creating solution proposals and securing Apollo products into project specifications.
    * Deliver technical presentations, CPDs, webinars and industry events to educate customers on Apollo's products and strengthen brand awareness.
    * Act as a trusted technical advisor by providing market insight, supporting product development and advising on solutions that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
    * Work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing and Product Management to share market intelligence, develop customer engagement strategies and convert opportunities into sales.
    * Manage the full project pursuit process by maintaining CRM records, tracking opportunities through the sales cycle and ensuring an accurate, high-quality project pipeline.
Requirements of the Project Specification & Solutions Manager:
    * Proven experience in business development or specification sales within the fire detection, fire alarm or wider building services industry, with a track record of generating new project opportunities.
    * Strong technical understanding of fire alarm systems, including BS EN standards, BS5839 and fire system design principles, with the ability to provide expert technical guidance.
    * Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to influence architects, consultants, contractors and other key stakeholders.
    * Commercially minded and self-motivated, with strong strategic thinking, problem-solving ability and the confidence to work autonomously while managing a project pipeline through CRM systems.
    * Ideally holds relevant industry qualifications or memberships (e.g. MIET, IFE, IFSM or FIA training), although these are desirable rather than essential.
