How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Company

Drive Sustainability Across Major Construction Projects

We are recruiting for an experienced Sustainability Manager to join one of the UK's leading privately-owned construction contractors. With an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality commercial, industrial, high rise residential and mixed-use developments, our client is committed to embedding sustainability into every stage of project delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the company's ambitious environmental and Net Zero Carbon objectives while working on prestigious projects across the UK.

    The Role

Working closely with estimating, design, project teams, clients and consultants, you'll ensure sustainability requirements are understood, delivered and maintained from tender stage through to project completion.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

Review client documentation and identify sustainability and BREEAM requirements.

    *

Support estimating teams to ensure sustainability requirements are accurately costed.

    *

Liaise with client design teams throughout the bid process.

    *

Incorporate sustainability requirements into tender documentation for the supply chain.

    *

Attend client and subcontractor tender interviews.

    *

Ensure projects achieve the required BREEAM targets, including the 5% design buffer.

    *

    Manage sustainability documentation from subcontractors.

    *

Coordinate with clients and consultants on BREEAM, carbon and environmental requirements.

    *

Support Design Managers with BREEAM compliance and project sustainability objectives.

    *

Assist with site sustainability systems, including Biosite and SmartWaste.

    *

Promote and monitor compliance with company sustainability initiatives, including Alternative Fuels, Waste Management and Net Zero Carbon targets.

    About You

You'll have experience in a sustainability role within the construction industry and a strong understanding of BREEAM and sustainable construction practices. You'll be an excellent communicator, capable of building strong relationships with clients, consultants and project teams, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

    What's on Offer?

This is an opportunity to join a forward-thinking contractor where sustainability is a core part of the business, not just a compliance requirement. You'll work on high-profile projects, collaborate with industry-leading professionals and play a key role in delivering meaningful environmental improvements, all within a business that offers genuine career progression and a competitive salary and benefits package
