How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Industrial Refrigeration Engineer

    Location: South West England - Bristol, Swindon, Gloucester & Ross-on-Wye (Mobile Role - Paid Door to Door)
    Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience & skillset)
    Hours: 39-hour week

    The Opportunity

    An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Industrial Refrigeration Engineer to join a well-established refrigeration contractor that is continuing to invest in and grow its industrial division.

    This role covers the South West, including Bristol, Swindon, Gloucester, Ross-on-Wye and the surrounding areas, working on a varied portfolio of industrial refrigeration equipment.

    The company is looking for experienced, time-served refrigeration engineers with a solid background in commercial or industrial refrigeration. Previous experience working on NH3 (ammonia) and CO2 systems is advantageous but not essential, as comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided to engineers with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

    You'll work on a diverse range of refrigeration systems, including NH3, CO2 and HFC equipment, maintaining critical refrigeration plant across industrial and distribution facilities.

    Key Responsibilities

    Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs)

    Responding to breakdowns and emergency callouts within agreed SLAs

    Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on a variety of refrigeration equipment

    Servicing and maintaining NH3, CO2 and HFC refrigeration systems

    Providing a high standard of customer service while working independently across multiple sites

    Participation in an on-call standby rota
