How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

As a Teaching Assistant in a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Worcester, you'll be helping pupils with SEN, ASD, ADHD, SEMH needs, and challenging behaviour re-engage with education and thrive in a nurturing environment.     The Role

    Starting 1st September 2026, you will play a key part in helping pupils build confidence, achieve positive outcomes, and foster engagement in learning. This is a contract role, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:15pm, with an extended day on Wednesdays (until 4:15pm).

    Pay Rate: £98.00 per day

    Location: Worcester

    Job Type: Long-Term Temporary

    Hours: Monday – Friday: 8:30am – 3:15pm; Wednesday: 8:30am – 4:15pm

    Start Date: 1st September 2026

    Role Responsibilities

    Support pupils with SEN, ASD, ADHD, SEMH needs and challenging behaviour throughout the school day
    Develop and maintain positive relationships to encourage engagement and participation
    Assist with classroom activities and individual learning plans
    Help pupils with emotional regulation, confidence, and social development
    Promote positive behaviour through consistent support and boundaries
    Work alongside teachers and wider support teams to tailor support for each pupil 

    Skills and Experience

    Experience working within a PRU, Alternative Provision, SEMH, or similar environment is essential
    Background supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEN, and challenging behaviour
    Strong understanding of behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
    Ability to build positive relationships with young people
    Calm, patient, consistent approach
    Education, SEND, or care-based qualifications desirable; relevant experience essential
    Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or willingness to have one processed
    Available for a full-time, long-term role from September 2026
    Able to complete compliance checks promptly
