How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This exciting opportunity offers the chance to teach across multiple academy sites, working with supportive colleagues and motivated students who are eager to discover their musical potential.

    Whether you're conducting a choir, introducing students to music technology, or helping them master their first performance, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact through the power of music.

    What You'll Be Doing

    Deliver engaging and inspiring Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is an advantage but not essential).
    Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to a range of abilities and learning styles.
    Encourage creativity, confidence, and musical expression both in and outside the classroom.
    Assess, monitor, and support student progress to help every learner achieve their potential.
    Contribute to performances, concerts, extracurricular clubs, and wider academy events.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple academy sites to share ideas and maintain high standards.
    Create a positive, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment where every student can thrive.

    What We're Looking For

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
    A degree in Music or a closely related subject.
    Experience teaching Music within a secondary school setting.
    Excellent classroom management and strong communication skills.
    A passion for inspiring young people through music and performance.
    Flexibility and willingness to work across multiple academy locations within Rotherham.
    An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Tradewind Recruitment.
