How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Industrial Voices Coordination & Training Officer

    Location: London

Do you want to be part of

    * Scaling up an ambitious and ground-breaking programme

    * Growing a big ecosystem of powerful working-class content creators.

    * On the frontlines of building power against the far and populist right

    Is this you?

    * Highly organised, and excellent at keeping others organised

    * Passionate about scaling a bold and ambitious project

    * Enjoy geeking out about training methodologies and approaches

    * Deeply motivated by building the power of workers and unions to stand up for democracy

The Industrial Voices programme recruits, trains and mentors industrial workers to produce their own impactful content that champions solidarity-based narratives and demands-as a counterweight to digital narratives driving division and hate.

The TUC is looking for a dynamic and highly organised individual to help us rapidly scale up the programme, including

    * managing day-to-day project management and coordination of the programme

    * helping expand and deliver our training package

    * Building a vibrant community of industrial worker programme participants.

You’ll be working with other colleagues on the Industrial Voices Programme, including the project lead in the Socials Team and the Save British Industry Organiser in the Organising team. You’ll be based in the TUC’s Industry, Climate & Energy team, and collaborate with the New Economy Organisers Network (NEON) which partners with the TUC on this

    project.

If this sounds like you, please see our job description and person specification.

Therefore, if you’re BME and are interested in the post, we invite you to join an online briefing at 12 noon on Friday 24 July 2026 about the post, to hear about the TUC and ask questions of the recruiting manager.

If you’d like to attend the briefing, please email by 12 noon on Wednesday 22 July 2026. You don’t need to attend the briefing session to apply.

Vacancy closes at 12 noon Wednesday 5 August 2026. Interviews will be held on the Thursday 13 August 2026.

The TUC operates an anonymised recruitment process, and names are not included during shortlisting. We don’t ask for details of educational institutions attended.
