How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Senior Support Worker – EBD Children's Residential Home

    Salary: £15.00–£16.00 per hour

    Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Support Worker to join our Ofsted-registered Children's Residential Home, supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is a rewarding opportunity to help create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive and achieve positive outcomes.

Working alongside the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, you will lead shifts, support the day-to-day running of the home, mentor Residential Support Workers, and ensure the highest standards of care are delivered in line with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015).

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead and supervise shifts, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the home.

    * Provide high-quality, child-centred care and support to young people with EBD.

    * Act as a Key Worker, implementing and reviewing individual care plans.

    * Support young people with emotional wellbeing, education, independence, and daily living skills.

    * Promote positive behaviour using trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.

    * Safeguard children and young people, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.

    * Build positive relationships with families, social workers, local authorities, and external professionals.

    * Support, mentor, and supervise Residential Support Workers, contributing to staff development and training.

    * Maintain accurate records, complete reports, and ensure regulatory compliance.

    * Support medication administration, risk assessments, and health and safety procedures.

    * Organise and participate in recreational and community activities.

    * Complete a mixture of day shifts, waking nights/sleep-ins (where applicable), weekends, and bank holidays on a rota basis.

    What We're Looking For

    * Previous experience working in a Children's Residential Home, ideally within an EBD setting.

    * Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and Children's Home Regulations.

    * Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

    * A genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people.

    * Flexibility to work shifts, sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays.

    * A full UK driving licence is desirable
