How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Bridgeman Recruitment Services are currently recruiting experienced Fire Door Inspectors to work on projects across Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

    The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out detailed inspections of fire doors within residential, commercial and public buildings, identifying defects and ensuring accurate records and reports are completed.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    * Carry out thorough inspections of fire doors and associated frames, ironmongery and hardware.

    * Identify and record defects, damage and areas of non-compliance.

    * Check door leaves, frames, hinges, closers, intumescent seals, glazing and other components.

    * Verify certification, labels and relevant fire door specifications where applicable.

    * Take accurate photographs and record findings using digital inspection systems.

    * Complete detailed inspection reports and recommend any required remedial works.

    * Liaise professionally with clients, site teams and residents where required.

    * Maintain accurate records of all inspections completed.

    * Work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.

    * Follow all relevant health and safety procedures while working on site.

    Requirements:

    * Previous experience carrying out fire door inspections is essential.

    * Relevant fire door inspection qualification, such as FDIS, BRE or equivalent, is preferred.

    * Strong knowledge of fire doors, associated hardware and common defects.

    * Excellent attention to detail and accurate reporting skills.

    * Good communication and customer service skills.

    * Ability to work independently and manage workloads efficiently.

    * Full UK driving licence preferred.
