An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Civil 3D Modeller to join a busy infrastructure design team based in Glasgow.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of a wide range of highway and civil engineering projects, producing accurate 3D models, drawings, and technical information from concept through to detailed design and construction stages.
Working closely with highway engineers and other technical specialists, you will play a key role in transforming engineering concepts into coordinated, buildable design solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while developing your modelling and design skills within a collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
·Produce high-quality Civil 3D models and technical drawings for highway and civil infrastructure projects.
·Develop and manage:
oAlignments
oProfiles
oCorridors
oSurfaces
oCross sections
oEarthworks models
·Prepare detailed design drawings, general arrangement plans, sections, and supporting documentation.
·Support highway engineers in translating design proposals into accurate and coordinated models.
·Assist with the development and coordination of drainage layouts and other civil engineering elements.
·Ensure drawings and models meet project standards, quality requirements, and delivery programmes.
·Coordinate design information with other disciplines including drainage, structures, utilities, and wider infrastructure teams.
Essential Requirements
·Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D.
·Experience producing 3D models and drawings for highways or civil infrastructure projects.
·Understanding of highway design principles, geometry, levels, and drainage coordination.
·Good knowledge of AutoCAD and digital design workflows.
·Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing accurate technical outputs.
·Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Desirable Experience
·Experience working on highway, transportation, or infrastructure schemes.
·Knowledge of BIM processes and common data environments.
·Experience supporting detailed design and construction information packages.
·Understanding of UK highway design standards and guidance.
·HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, CAD, or a related discipline.
