How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    MTrec Recruitment are proudly representing our industry leading client due to continued growth, on their search for an experienced CAD/CAM Programmer & Manufacturing Engineer to join their engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys combining design, programming, and manufacturing engineering to bring innovative products to life.

    The successful candidate will play a key role in developing manufacturing processes, creating CNC programs, supporting new product introduction, and driving continuous improvement across the business.

    The Role you will be doing;

    Reporting to the Technical & Quality Manager, the CAD/CAM Programmer & Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for creating manufacturing-ready designs, programming CNC equipment, and supporting the production team to ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

    This is a hands-on role that requires both technical expertise and a practical approach to problem-solving.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Create and optimise CNC machining programs using CAD/CAM software.

    * Produce 3D models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.

    * Use SolidWorks to develop and maintain product and assembly designs.

    * Utilise Rhino (Rhinoceros 3D) for complex modelling and customer-specific design requirements.

    * Generate production-ready artwork, engraving files, and technical graphics using Adobe Illustrator.

    * Support the introduction of new products from concept through to production.

    * Develop manufacturing methods, tooling requirements, and setup instructions.

    * Work closely with Production and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturability.

    * Drive continuous improvement activities focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction.

    * Support route creation, process planning, and manufacturing documentation.

    * Ensure compliance with company quality, health & safety, and customer requirements.

    About You;

    Essential Experience & Qualifications

    * HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Product Design, or Production Engineering.

    * Proven experience in a CAD/CAM Programmer, Manufacturing Engineer, or similar role.

    * Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks.

    * Experience using Rhino (Rhinoceros 3D)

    * Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator.

    * Experience generating CNC programs using CAD/CAM software.

    * Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and CNC machining.

    * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

    * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

    Desirable Experience

    Experience within plastics, polymers, composites, or precision manufacturing.

    Knowledge of CNC milling and multi-axis machining.

    Fixture and tooling design experience.

    Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

    New Product Introduction (NPI) experience.

    Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems
