How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated practitioner who is passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people, and families.

Working within a supportive and collaborative environment, you will manage a varied caseload and play a key role in safeguarding vulnerable children while supporting families to achieve sustainable positive change.

Prepare high-quality reports and provide evidence in court proceedings when required.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with children, young people, families, carers, and partner agencies.

Work collaboratively with statutory, voluntary, and independent sector organisations to implement care plans and family interventions.

Complete timely, evidence-based assessments, regularly reviewing progress and adapting plans where positive outcomes are not being achieved.

Undertake preventative and early intervention work aimed at reducing the need for children entering care.

Promote the welfare, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people at all times.

    Requirements

Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.

    Registered with Social Work England.

Experience working within Children's Services, particularly CIC, Safeguarding, or Family Support Teams.

Strong assessment, report writing, and court work experience.

Sound knowledge of current children's legislation, safeguarding procedures, and best practice.

Ability to work independently and manage a demanding caseload effectively.

Enhanced DBS with Children's Barred List clearance.

If you are a qualified and experienced Social Worker looking for your next opportunity within Children's Services, we'd love to hear from you
