How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    NRL’s client is seeking experienced Maintenance Fitters for a permanent role based in Glasgow. This role will suit individuals with strong mechanical expertise, excellent diagnostic skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Joining this established organisation offers the opportunity to work on varied equipment and play a vital part in maintaining operational efficiency.

    Salary: Up to £42,440 following successful completion of probation.

    Location and Working Pattern
    Glasgow – on-site. Candidates should be flexible, including the ability to work on-call or out-of-hours, with a current rota requiring one weekend in five.

    Responsibilities
    Carry out maintenance and repair work on a broad range of mechanical equipment.
    Conduct routine inspections and identify issues to prevent breakdowns.
    Assist with assembly and installation of new machinery.
    Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment details.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve department objectives.
    Comply with company safety policies, including hazard identification and risk assessments.Must-have Requirements
    Recognised apprenticeship in mechanical craft engineering.
    HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
    4–5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance fitter or technician role following apprenticeship completion.Additional Requirements

    Ability to use mechanical tools and equipment with confidence, including working on hydraulic systems and high-speed rotating machinery.
    Skilled at interpreting mechanical drawings and technical documents.
    Understanding of preventative maintenance systems and processes.
    Strong communication and team-working skills.
    Flexibility to work on-call and outside of normal hours when required.Nice-to-have Skills
    Welding and fabrication experience.
