How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: £19.62 - £20.59 per hour, plus holiday pay (dependant on Teaching Qualification)

    * Play a vital role in designing vibrant, creative resources that captivate and inspire future criminologists and youth justice practitioners. By seamlessly blending real-world case studies, theoretical frameworks, and digital teaching methods, you will equip learners with the critical analytical skills, psychological insights, and ethical behaviours needed to thrive in the justice sector and beyond. You will also champion student success by actively tracking data and guiding their progress toward outstanding personal achievements.
    * As a highly motivated and supportive team player, your exceptional interpersonal skills will shine. You will collaborate seamlessly with colleagues and leadership to turn strategic academic visions into impactful, engaging classroom realities.
    * You will hold a vocational qualification at Level 5 or above, as well as a relevant teaching qualification and assessors award, or be willing to work towards. You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths or be willing to work towards.

    Department Info
    You will work as part of the curriculum team of Sport & Public Services at Dearne Valley College, and take direction from the Curriculum Team Leader. You will be line managed by the Curriculum Manager.
