How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Worcester, Worcestershire
    Salary: £33,000 - £37,000 per annum

    About the Role

    My client are looking for an experienced Solar PV Designer to join a growing renewable energy business based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity for a Solar PV Designer to support the sales team by producing high-quality solar PV system designs and ensuring projects are technically compliant from quotation through to handover.

    The successful Solar PV Designer will work closely with sales consultants, helping to deliver accurate system designs, technical support and grid connection applications, while maintaining excellent communication with colleagues and customers.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Design domestic and commercial solar PV systems using PV Sol software.

    *

    Produce accurate technical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD.

    *

    Prepare and submit DNO (Distribution Network Operator) applications.

    *

    Provide technical support to the sales team during the quotation process.

    *

    Ensure all designs comply with current industry standards and regulations.

    *

    Liaise with DNOs, suppliers and internal departments where required.

    *

    Maintain accurate project documentation and design records.

    *

    Support continuous improvement of design processes and standards.

    Essential Requirements

    *

    Previous experience as a Solar PV Designer.

    *

    Proficient in PV Sol.

    *

    Strong AutoCAD skills.

    *

    Experience preparing and submitting DNO applications.

    *

    Good understanding of solar PV system design principles and UK regulations.

    *

    Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

    *

    Strong communication skills.

    *

    Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

    Desirable

    *

    Experience designing both domestic and commercial solar PV systems.

    *

    Knowledge of battery storage and EV charging integration.

    *

    Familiarity with MCS standards and G98/G99 grid connection processes.
