How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Encourage positive behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy and promote high expectations.
Support students with organisation, study skills, and independent learning.
Assist with preparing classroom resources and maintaining an effective learning environment.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Help create an inclusive classroom where every student feels supported and able to succeed.
Supervise students during breaktimes, educational visits, or enrichment activities where required.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and parents to support students' academic and personal development.

    The Ideal Candidate

Experience working with secondary-aged students in a school, youth work, mentoring, coaching, or similar setting is desirable but not essential.
A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them reach their full potential.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics; relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are advantageous but not essential.

    About the School

This welcoming and well-resourced secondary school has a strong commitment to academic excellence, student wellbeing, and inclusive education. Staff work collaboratively to create a positive learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve their best, develop confidence, and prepare for future success.

The school values professional development and offers a supportive culture where staff are encouraged to grow their skills and progress in their careers. With excellent leadership, modern facilities, and a strong focus on student achievement, this is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving school community.
