We're recruiting on behalf of an organisation in Ashford, Kent for an experienced Employee Relations specialist to join on an initial 6-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.
This role sits at the sharp end of ER - you'll be the go-to for case management, union relationships, and manager coaching across the business, with real scope to shape how ER is handled.
What you'll be doing
Owning a caseload of ER issues - disciplinaries, grievances, absence management - from first contact through to resolution
Acting as the primary point of contact for trade union representatives, maintaining constructive working relationships
Coaching and upskilling managers on employment law and ER best practice
Designing and delivering ER training across the business
Supporting HR policy development and implementation
Partnering with senior stakeholders on people solutions tied to business goalsWhat you'll bring
CIPD Level 5 (essential)
Solid ER-focused HR generalist background
Direct, hands-on experience working with trade unions - this is essential, not preferred
Strong employment law knowledge
Confidence operating and influencing at senior level
Able to commit to 4 days/week on-site in Ashford, Kent for the contract durationStart date: ASAP
